Q: Who is eligible to order from Remedy Makers?
A: There are three (3) categories of Remedy Makers remedies.
- Over the Counter remedies: Anyone (18 and over) can order from this category, which includes popular homeopathic remedies, such as Arnica, Montana, and Chamomilla.
- Prescription remedies: Only licensed professionals can order prescription remedies. This list includes the following: Medical Doctors (MD), Doctors of Osteopathy (DO), Doctors of Veterinary Medicine (DVM), Doctors of Podiatric Medicine (DPM), Doctors of Dental Science (DDS), Pharmacists (Pharm. D. / RPh), and Naturopathic Physicians (ND) from a limited number of states (see question regarding NDs below), in addition to professional practices, pharmacies, and drug wholesalers and distributors.
- Controlled Substance remedies: Only the licensed professionals (listed above) that possess a current and valid Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) license can order Controlled Substance remedies.
Q: I am a homeopath. What type of remedies can I order from Remedy Makers?
A: Homeopaths, as well as non-homeopaths, can order any of Remedy Makers’ Over the Counter remedies (OTC). These remedies are for the general public to purchase, regardless of their background in homeopathy.
Q: I am a Naturopathic physician (ND). Can I order Remedy Makers’ Prescription and Controlled Substance remedies?
A: According to the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians (AANP), there are currently only eleven (11) states that have licensing laws for Naturopathic physicians (NDs). These states are: Alaska, Arizona, Connecticut, Hawaii, Maine, Montana, New Hampshire, Oregon, Utah, Vermont, and Washington. Naturopathic physicians from these states have access to Remedy Makers’ Prescription remedies.
As for Remedy Makers’ Controlled Substance remedies, a DEA License is necessary to order. Of the states listed above, only Arizona and Oregon can get full DEA Licenses and, thus, order Controlled Substance remedies. Montana (Schedule 2 Non-Narcotic and above license) and Vermont (Schedule 3 Non-Narcotic and Schedule 5) have laws allowing NDs to get a limited DEA license.
Once again, please refer to your states laws and regulations or please contact the American Association of Homeopathic Physicians (AAHP) at www.homeopathy.com regarding this matter.
Q: I meet the requirements to obtain a DEA License. How do I get one?
A: You must fill out an application to obtain a DEA License. Contact the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) in your area or http://www.deadiversion.usdoj.gov for further instructions.
Q: I already have a DEA License. What do I do next?
A: You must fill out a DEA Form 222. This is a preprinted order form that comes directly from the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). If you do not already have one, a booklet of DEA Form 222s can be requested from http://www.deadiversion.usdoj.gov for no charge. The booklet takes about a week to receive.
